altSta per tornare Anna dai capelli rossi con il prequel tratto dal romazo Before Green Gables scritto da Budge Wilson nel 2008 in occasione del centenario dalla nascita del primo romanzo scritto da Lucy Maud Montgomery del 1908.

La nuova serie anime sarà trasmessa in Giappone a partire dal 5 aprile 2009, è composta da 39 episodi e sarà diretta da Yatabe Katsuyoshi. Il nuovo anime racconta del legame che univa Anna ai suo genitori, Bertha e Walter, e della loro prematura morte.
