XBox 360 ha venduto più di Wii nella settimana che ha avuto termine il 14 settembre, secondo le cifre fornite da Enterbrain. È un’inversione di tendenza visto che in Giappone la console di Microsoft viene solitamente trascurata in favore di PlayStation 3 e, soprattutto, di Wii.

Microsoft ha venduto in una settimana 28.861 console, mentre Nintendo si è fermata a 27.057. Il sorpasso è frutto del nuovo prezzo) a cui XBox 360 viene venduta in Giappone, del nuovo hard disk da 60 GB di cui è dotata la soluzione Premium e del lancio del gioco di ruolo di Square Enix, Infinite Undiscovery. Sony, invece, ha venduto nella settimana in esame 8.050 unità di PlayStation 3.

Microsoft vende a 19,800 yen (circa 125 euro) la soluzione Arcade, a 29.800 yen (circa 200 euro) la soluzione Premium e a 39.800 yen (circa 265 euro) la soluzione Elite. In Giappone, dal momento del lancio ad oggi, sono state vendute 717.275 unità di XBox 360. Microsoft ha recentemente annunciato un calo di prezzo di XBox 360 anche per l’Europa.
