Sono passati ormai 4 anni dall'uscita di PSP ma di Gran Turismo Mobile o come si doveva chiamare, annunciato insieme al portatile di casa Sony, ancora non se n'è vista l'ombra. Ma a ravvivare l'attesa verso uno dei giochi più chiaccherati degli ultimi anni, è intervenuto durante la conferenza di Sony al Tokyo Game Show 2008, Shuhei Yoshida presidente di Sony World Wide Studio.

Yoshida pur evedendo qualsiasi domanda sulla data di uscita del gioco, ha svelato che lo sviluppatore è il solito di tutti i capitoli cioè Polyphony Digital, come ormai noto da anni, e che il ritardo del capitolo per PSP è dovuto al contemporaneo sviluppo di Gran Turismo 5, ma che tutto il Team sta lavorando alacremente per terminare il gioco.
