Si chiama Venus SPARC64 VIIIfx, CPU cuore di futuri Super Computer destinati ad applicazioni industriali, scientifici e gestionali, che nei giorni scorsi è stata presentata da Fujitsu. La Cpu dotata di 8 core è capace di spingersi alla velocità di calcolo di 128 GFlops ed è secondo i dati forniti dall’azienda la più veloce del mondo grazie. Tanto per fare un confronto il top di gamma di Intel è lo Xeon 5500 che arriva "soltanto" a 76 GFlops.

La Cpu è realizzato con processo produttivo a 45 nanometri e integra il controller di memoria. Secondo le informazioni disponibili, il chip di Fujitsu ha una velocità 2,5 volte superiore e consumi pari a un terzo rispetto a una CPU Intel
