nakizumoTokyo - Domenica 26 Aprile si è tenuta, presso il tempo Senso-Ji di Asakusa, la 19esima edizione del "Sumo del pianto", oppure Nakizumo (泣き相撲), a cui hanno partecipato ben 82 bebè.

La tradizione si basa sul proverbio giapponese "Nakuko wa sodatsu" (泣く子は育つ), ovvero il bambino che piange ad alta voce crescerà sano e forte. Durante questa gara i membri del club di Sumo della Nihon University hanno alzato al cielo i neonati dello scorso anno: chi piange più in fretta o più forte viene dichiarato vincitore.

Spesso alcuni bebè, tuttavia, restavano addormentati o scoppiavano a ridere, per il divertimento della folla di circa 2000 spettatori.
