Nuovo record per un'asta di un tonno nel mercato del pesce di Tsukiji a Tokyo, il più grande del mondo. Il tonno rosso in questione del peso di 342 kg è stato battuto nella prima asta del nuovo anno per circa 32,49 milioni di yen, pari a 300.000 euro.

Il tonno è stato acquistato da un'alleanza di ristoranti di sushi composta da un famoso locale di lusso del quartiere di Ginza a Tokyo,  e da una catena di sushi di Hong Kong.
